Custom Fabrication of Black Materials
Beyond selling black materials, we offer custom fabrication: laser cutting, adhesive lamination, and application to your parts. We accept orders from a single piece, for both prototypes and production.
Laser cutting needs no dies, so we can produce precise parts with short lead times; shipment is possible as early as the next day. We quote after receiving your drawing (DXF, DWG, PDF, etc.) or even a hand sketch with dimensions.
Standard shapes (squares, circles, rings) can be priced and ordered online through our Laser Cut Service, with 0.1 mm precision.
What we do
Laser-cut parts
We cut FINESHUT, flock sheets and other black materials precisely to your drawing: light shields, spacers and masks for optical instruments, and more.
Calibration boards and 2D code panels
We combine a white base with non-reflective black to make patterns whose black areas do not wash out under lighting: camera calibration boards, photo targets, and non-reflective QR code and AR marker panels.
Non-reflective panels, signs and nameplates
Deep-black panels made with a sheet that absorbs 98.8% of visible light: signs, nameplates, family crests, photo prints and more.
Adhesive lamination and application
From laminating double-sided tape onto black materials to applying them onto acrylic, metal plates or your own parts. We can deliver parts with the material already applied, saving assembly time.
Dark Relief: non-reflective panels
Dark Relief is our custom panel made with an ultra-black sheet that absorbs 98.8% of visible light. We make signs, sign panels, nameplates, family crests and photo prints. Consider it when you want a logo or mark expressed in a deep black, or want a sign to be easier to read from a distance.
How it is expressed
The basic design uses two colors: the black sheet and the base plate (white, gold, silver, etc.). Laser engraving also allows photo prints at a resolution of 90 dpi.
Depth and dimension from a black with no gloss
A shadow is the part of an object that light does not reach, so it has no gloss. The glossless black of Dark Relief is ideal for expressing shadows, and makes it look as if a real three-dimensional object were there.
It also works very well for monochrome designs and photo prints where depth matters, and for trick art.
Industrial use: black that never washes out under lighting
Under any lighting, the black areas do not wash out to white from reflections, so contrast is maintained. Dark Relief is used for outdoor calibration boards, photo target markers, 2D codes at drone landing pads, and more.
Care
The black surface layer is polyurethane-based, flexible and durable. If it gets dirty, it can be washed with water and a neutral detergent. Use it for indoor signs, or for outdoor signs over a short period.
